GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Florence High School is pretty good. I have a few teachers who really care for me and help me learn.

Florence HS has been support of me for my entire HS and JH experience. This was important as I am considered gifted and talented, and had needs that went with that, which they assisted me in. It was also important that they support me in my rodeo endeavors, which led me out of state during some school days, and they did that as well. They are connected with the local college which provided opportunities for me to take college courses, and they also provided honors courses as well.

I liked the teachers. They strove to do the best for their students. The administration was marginal. They have the "good old boys system" there. They will do something that may seem odd to benefit another person. The culture was lacking although that was something that teachers and administrators were focusing on improving. There is a sense of community now that wasn't there when I was there.

This school is a joke if you can avoid sending your kids to school here you should. They don’t answer phones and students aren’t getting help they need to succeed.

This High school needs to stick to one curriculum because it switches pretty often and now, the Honors English Freshmen are being taught things they've already learned in second grade (as an example). My brother was not going to be able to catch up with his credits, this year, because they switched...
