Floyd has been a cool school to got to, but there are some things wrong with it. There is very little diversity and the STEM programs are not that great. Would recommend going to the Governor's School if you have the chance.

We have faced some peer and environmental issues within the school, but overall the student body bands together to try and brainstorm a solution.

Floyd County High School is located in a small rural area. Funding is limited due to county government attitudes toward education. Facilities are old and lack improvements I see in many other surrounding schools. Despite these challenges, the schools boast great state assessment scores as a result of staff being committed to their students. Most people do have a positive opinion of the local school system.
