GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Fort Fairfield Middle/High School is a small school in a rural Maine community. It's difficult to properly fund and staff all schools and those challenges are present here too. Overall, there are some great teachers, trying their best to educate students. Everything may not be the best but it's an alright school.

My experience with FFMHS has been terrible. The food here is horrible for example they gave us a lunch able for lunch and the anti bullying policy that there supposed to go by isn't the strongest and most often the teachers don't see it happening. Most people who are being bullied won't talk to anyone about it, i would give this a 2 star if the school had better lunches and would give it a three star if the school would talk to the bully's instead of not doing anything about it.

The small class size and availability of the teachers is a plus. The school does offer opportunities for students to be better prepared for college. However, it also appears the new move to a performance based education to be something akin to teaching to the middle, rather than teaching to the various student levels in the class.
