The academic portion of the school is very well rounded and put together however, the sports is focused on football and cheerleading way more than other sports. I play on the Dunbar girls varsity soccer team and we don't get even remotely close to the amount of funding and privilege as the football team does.

Throughout my four years of attending Dunbar High School, I'd like to say my experience was better than what I expected it to be. The most of the teachers here care about our future and want us to succeed while others just teach to teach. The environment is like any typical high school. But when it comes to college readiness and college applications they truly stretch out an arm to us. Well based on my experience I can't say it's the same for everyone.

As a Dunbar student it has been a rollercoaster of experience. The teachers tend to be great and helpful in some ways. The honor classes are up to expectation. The staff seem to be big on having to school fight free zones. The bad thing I would say is the school isn't big on school spirit, they have casual simple ones but not up to my expectation to have the students engaged.

Cant complain. Both my Kids went to Dunbar and exceled. Both went to D-1 Schools on full ride academic scholarships.

Dunbar high school is an amazing high school . Dunbar offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in conjunction with a STEM academy. We are extremely happy with Dunbar high school.
