spring street is a welcoming and academically rigorous school.the students begin the year with contextual outdoor education in the form of an all-school backpacking trip which teaches the children to bond together when the going becomes difficult. the middle school has exceptional teachers who teach not only how to be curious and care for others but most of all how everything is subject is interconnected. the whole year is peppererd with immersive projects as well as in the field learning. the school year end in a historic play written and performed by the middle school students with help from the humanities teacher Kate Small. the play highlights an important time in history that the students have been studying.the high school and middle school students also get the opportunity to go on international trips in the spring. Spring street high school is academically challenging and the school excels in preparing there young minds for collage and beyond.

I m overwhelmed and find myself lucky to be connected with the SSIS.Honestly it was a difficult task for my son during his first year to mould himself with the education system and the culture.I was little scared and nervous but the school has helped him a lot and he finds himself more friendly ,more comfortable and he is never tired of appreciating the school and the education system.I can see lots of positive changes in him.Thankyou so much and a very best of luck to all the SSIS family members . Growth requires forward momentum. The director, whose approach to listening is outdated, needs to step asid...

I am a teacher at Spring Street. The small classroom size allows us to be flexible with each student and give them opportunities to grow in their own unique way. The administration is supportive of innovation in the classroom. We are allowed, even urged, to match our lesson plans with the personalit...

SSIS is great for my son, who is now in the 7th grade. The school has grown to 100 students with 25 international boarding students. The teachers are great: dedicated, brilliant, compassionate, master teachers who care. The year began with everyone going backpacking for 1-week in the Cascades. Class...
