Calvary Christian is good for college readiness. At Calvary I am taking a class on my personal finances and how to get scholarships and not go into debt.

No school is perfect, but I love the community at Calvary Christian schools. There are fun activities we do every once and a while. These include Sadie Hawkins dance, homecoming dance, spirit week, and a junior senior: where the juniors pick what we do, and we plan the night for the seniors. The sports teams aren't great because It is such a small school (There are 34 people in high school.) There are 9 people in my whole class (Junior class.) We are all very close.

I have been to 5 different schools, including 3 non-denominational public schools. When told i would be attending CCS I was promised a safe, encouraging environment and I did not receive that. Being a black female i did not feel home at all. the official website claims to have a diverse student body but in the highschool there is only one other black student. because the school is so small and filled with like minded people the students are quite sheltered. I witnessed and was the subject of multiple accounts of racism. I was called slurs and other offensive comments. I went to the administrator my first year about racism my friend and i were experiencing and we were told it was our fault for being too sensitive and that racist stereotypes are not racist and we need to be more considerate of the people profiling us. there are a few good teachers but they have no power, a teacher told me that an individual in charge made several sexist comments to her and screamed at her infront ofkids

When told i would be going to CCS i was promised an uplifting, encouraging community but that is not what i received.
