GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

What I liked about Fruitport High School are how nice everyone is. The teachers are great, along with the other students. Some things that need to change include the cafeteria food and perhaps a later starting time.

I am a recent graduate of Fruitport High School. Overall, this is a great community and school system, but I definitely was not prepared for the real world of college. The staff were excellent and all my teachers throughout my 4 years cared about each of their students academically and personally. But the classes offered were limited and I did not have enough direction on how to take advantage of honors or advanced placement classes.

I loved the sense of family I felt at Fruitport. Everyone knew each other and I loved it> one thing I would change is better college preparation for students.

Compared to other schools in the area Fruitport is much better. I just wish they were more lenient with the dress code, had much better food, and put funding into the arts. They give all the funding to the sports teams and the choirs, bands, and art programs don't get much funding. Our drama program...

Fruitport is a great school district and really cares about the students. I see a great deal of effort on the part of the staff and parents to always improve the quality of the educational experience.
