The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

I would like to see a change in the cafeteria food and elective choices. The best parts of Gaston highschool is the parent involvement and school activities. The worst part of Gaston Highschool is cafeteria food and our music and arts programs.

Filled with uneducated white people who are already alcoholics by the age of 15... teachers also don't care about the students problems/concerns. AP classes taught here are never good and never actually prepare you for the test. Teachers give you a slideshow to copy down notes of, but no actual engaging or helpful assignments. Students are homophobic, racist, ableist all of that... The boys here try to act tough and funny when their humor is boring and basic. so. not good for people who want funny friends ...... no actual clubs there too.

I transfered to Gaston high school my sophomore year and was welcomed with open arms. Throughout my time at Gaston, I have learned that this school is very different from most. Gaston is a family. I came from a significantly larger school than Gaston, and was pleasantly surprise by the love I received from the community and the school, a love that most people can't receive at larger schools.
