Founded in 2005, Gateway Academy is one of the only schools in the state of Arizona exclusively serving students with autism. The faculty here believe every student should be embraced for their strengths, differences and what makes them exceptional.
As an accredited private school serving the greater Phoenix area, Gateway Academy offers a structured academic curriculum for nearly 100 students in grades six through 12 who have been diagnosed with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In addition to classes, students can engage in programs specific to their individual needs, including equine therapy, where students can engage in communication, emotional bonding and sensory experiences; dog therapy, where they can improve vocalization and social skills; and music therapy, which can help lower anxiety.
Other core offerings include counseling, community service, social language, sensory integration, adaptive physical education and even a virtual reality lab—to empower students both socially and physically. With a well-tended, 8-acre campus, the school also has plenty of outdoor space and facilities for team sports.

I love everything about this school. They provide individualized curriculum, flexible teaching methods, exposure to a variety of activities, speech and occupational therapy, Horse therapy, and fun extracurriculars all while developing a feeling of community and belonging the my son hasn't been able to experience elsewhere

I cant say enough about how much I love this school. My daughter always had a hard time in school, grades suffered. I enrolled her in gateway and my gosh she is flourishing! They truly care, my daughter went from crying every morning and failing classes to smiling every morning with her A's and B's.
