Neely Traditional Academy in Gilbert is a public elementary school serving students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. As a selected member of the Gilbert Public Schools District, the school follows the traditional education model not followed in other elementary schools in the district which incorporates high academic standards and character development. The curriculum is accelerated in reading, writing and mathematics in order to prepare elementary students for academic excellence. Under the traditional model, all desks face the front of the classroom formal lecture style and knowledge is built incrementally and cumulatively. Technology is introduced to students for future STEM courses, while music and art performance play an important role in campus life to encourage creativity.
The Neely Knights practice physical education to instill wellness and train future athletes. To educate children and parents about online safety, digital citizenship classes are available. The Gilbert Public Schools District offers a virtual classroom with online classes for pupils in kindergarten through twelfth grades that students at Neely Traditional Academy are easily able to access. I have had 3 kids (with very different personalities) attend k-6 at Neely and it has been great for all of them! The curriculum is rigorous but there is plenty of support and communication.

My experience was overall average. I would say it's a school like all others. The school had some good events, along with a good computer lab and library, so good resources. I wished the school felt more inclusive of people of all types.
