Mevers School of Excellence opened its doors in 2017 on the north side of Goose Creek. Serving kindergarten to eighth-grade students, Mevers School of Excellence offers free education as a public charter school. With a dedication to providing students with abundant opportunities for growth and achievement, the school offers programs like before- and after-school care, personalized learning plans, meal plans and more. Parents volunteer throughout the school year to help with activities and run special events smoothly to encourage involvement in the success of students and the school. During the year, students enjoy special events like Kindergarten graduation, spirit days, fundraisers and an annual book fair. These events motivate them to come to school and participate in extracurricular activities. Regarding academics, the school has personalized learning plans for students. The food is very gross and makes some of the students sick and they stop focusing on music and arts, for instance they do not fund the drama club anymore.
