Immanuel-St. James Lutheran Academy is a private, Christian school located on Oakwood Avenue Northeast in the Creston neighborhood of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Through the combination of Immanuel Lutheran Church and St. James Lutheran Church in 1973, Immanuel-St. James School was founded and is also known as ISJ Academy by locals. Over 45 years later, the academy is still providing Christian education with a challenging curriculum and smaller class sizes for students in prekindergarten through eighth grade.
Technology is an important tool at ISJ. The school is continually incorporating more technology in all its classrooms as the upper classes use Chromebooks regularly as an additional tool throughout the learning process. ISJ connects with students using faith-based curriculum, prayer and service opportunities allowing them to explore areas outside of quality academics.
The school building and grounds at Immanuel-St. James remains in great condition. The playground area is well-equipped for all ages. As one of the oldest and most successful Christian schools in Grand Rapids, Immanuel-St. James Academy is a valued educational choice in the Creston neighborhood and beyond.

Two children have attended. The teachers care about the students, not about a paycheck. Small classes so more one on one time. Parent involvement is required, I love this. Communication with teachers is easy and expected. Curriculum is advanced, but the teachers do their best to make it fun. Loving...
