GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

East has a great staff that does everything in their power to help the student body. The student body is one of the most diverse in the area and that really left a positive impact on my experience at East.

East High has been able to offer me, a middle-class white female, the cultural competency I need to interact with different kinds of people. It is obvious many teachers love their jobs, however, some teachers aren't as understanding or willing to help as others. The school gets a bad reputation because of its low-income students and students who tend to skip classes, but overall, East High is a wonderful school of students who love to learn and teachers who love to teach.

East High school is a fun school. The spirit days are involved with majority of the students and teachers. It was easy to make friends and get close to teachers and I like that the principle is easy going but also steen at time. I would recommend this school to many parents and students in my area.

I have two children attending this high school that are doing very well. The teachers truly do care about the students' success but you have to be involved as parents just like at any other school.

East has issues that are typical of any "inner city" school - kids who don't want to be there, kids without stable role models in their lives, or kids who have to work to support themselves/their families and thus have less energy to devote to school. In that sense, it's lower-ranked than some of th...
