GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Eastern has been nothing less than amazing. Although I would like to see more involvement in staff among sports.

Eastern is such a small school, averaging about 100 students each graduating class. The smallness of the school is really awesome because the teacher to student ratio is a great advantage. The teachers know all of their students and just how to teach them in order for the students to succeed.

Overall, Eastern has been a good school to attend. I do wish that there were more options available for technical schools/training programs. The only option is the Kokomo Area Career Center, which I have been attending for 3 years, in the Culinary Program. It has been fantastic. Not much interest is given to students who do not wish to pursue a 4 year college, and transportation is no longer avaiable either. This limits choices students have.

Eastern is a solid choice academically and prepares students well for college. If your family puts stock into athletic programs you would do better elsewhere. School board politics greatly favor conservative families that observe a protestant religious view.
