Dedicated to team spirit, Brownell Middle School serves the community of Grosse Pointe Farms with the motto, 'Together We Will." Offering a public school education to fifth through eighth graders, Brownell Middle School promotes a core curriculum of English language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.
Electives include French and/or Spanish, choir, orchestra, band and percussion and creative drama. Also offered as electives: art classes, including digital art, life skills involving food and nutrition skills, industrial technology (wood and metal working) and physical education and fitness.
P.E. classes are broken into "team sports" and "lifetime activities." Team sports feature basketball, frisbee, volleyball, soccer, floor hockey, football, and kickball/softball. Lifetime activities include racquet sports, bowling, track and field, lawn games, and personal fitness. Seventh and eighth graders may acquire their boating certificate.
The Brownell Broncos are proud competitors in volleyball, basketball, cross country, track, wrestling and swimming. Students also have many opportunities to forge meaningful memories participating in extracurriculars like the eighth-grade field trip to Washington D.C., joining the cheer or running club, participating in the Fun Color Run or signing up for drama, yearbook or robotics clubs.

Grosse Pointe Farms is a great place to live and great schools to go to I had some kids go to each school but their favorite was Brownell because of the great food and the great learning!!!!
