It's only competitive if you surround yourself with people who also believe that, and course rigor is almost completely dependent on the teacher you receive. The faculty here are often overqualified, but that experience rarely comes in during class time. It's an environment that greatly rewards self study.

I'm not going to say I love BCA because it's a school and obviously has flaws, but I don't regret my decision to go here and I think I'm happier here than I would be at any other school I was considering. I love the people (it's not as competitive as some make it out to be - unless you want to be in the top 5% of applicants for college from the school) -, the teachers are usually willing to help, and you get used to the cockroaches.

Overall, this school is designed to be challenging and it meets those expectations. For dedicated students, this is the place to go. The resources and opportunities here are unmatched. However, the workload is a lot to deal with, and the competitiveness of the school has some drawbacks.

This school is without a doubt the best school in the NJ/NY area. It has a very rigorous STEM program, lots of research opportunities, and guarantees you making it into a good college.

Very rigorous school and curriculum. Due to a selective admissions process, most students perform well and when combined with good teachers the learning environment is excellent. The best stem/steam school in NY/NY area for sure. A lot of work and a lot of material. Hard tests and hard grading. School at elite college level material. Any college is a cake walk after this school.
