GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

For the size of our school there are many after school activities. Basketball is by far the most popular at our school and region, but there is also many other sports, DDF and several music programs. We also have a very high participation rate with the large majority of students doing at least one, but usually more, different sports and activities.

I believe that the administration at my school are doing well at their jobs. Administration and students are fairly close and our school has not had issues with bullying, dress code, or any other huge issues. A testament to this is the fact that the big thing being worked on as the year began was reducing the number of tardies in school.

I've really enjoyed my time at Haines High School. What I think makes it a really good place to go is all the great people here. There are still some that aren't as friendly, but most of the people here are really nice to be around and not only that, but you get to know your teachers since it is such a small school. The people combined with the ability to do sports and have interesting academic opportunities makes it a good school.
