The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Hewlett High School is amazing. Teachers, administration, faculty, and staff go above and beyond to create a comfortable learning environment for students.

Hewlett provided so many resources and opportunities for me to grow and learn. So many clubs and ways to get involved with the community and beyond--from sports to research to the arts. Never had a teacher I didn't like, and both the faculty and administration were very involved and genuinely cared for all students.

My parents, amongst many others, moved to the district for one reason only, the school system. My parents took a big risk coming to such an expensive town and leaving their comfort zone. They did so to give me and my siblings a better shot at a good education. Personally, even when I've had problems, they were always quick to be resolved, but I don't think I should be the focal point of this review, my sister should be. My sister is a few years younger than me, and growing up I've seen her struggle in so many ways. She has a learning disorder which makes it difficult for her to focus and keep up in pace with her peers. Before moving to hewlett she would feel behind and scared to ask for help. Hewlett has offered her the help and assistance she needed to move herself out of her position of discomfort. She is able to succeed in ways she couldn't even imagine and my family and I couldn't be happier. I don't know where I would be without moving here, and I don't want to know.
I’ve only been at this school for 3 quarters of my freshman year now, but I can definitively say that I have had the best learning experiences here. The teachers are beyond helpful, especially the special education teachers in the integrated classes, and respond very quickly to any questions or conc...
The student body creates a negative atmosphere of materialism and disrespect. The learning environment is hard to focus on amongst this level of toxicity. They can have all the class opportunities in the world but the school community is not very inclusive.
I have had four children go through the Hewlett Woodmere schools from Pre-K on. As an educator, I have been impressed with the quality of education my children have received at all of the schools. There are tremendous opportunities for students to succeed regardless of their interest, talent and lev...
Personally I’ve had a terrible experience as a student. The student body is just plain disrespectful. The teachers give little effort and don’t inspire students. And the administration is subpar.
