There are some outstanding teachers and some less-than-outstanding ones. I made lasting friends. The school is not very diverse, a downside. There is the pleasant feeling of school spirit that creeps up on you every once in a while, but that spirit can falter at times. There are multiple levels of English and Math courses within grade levels to help everyone learn at an optimal pace. My overall experience was nice.

My son is a 6th grader at Edgewood, and he is having a great experience there. The teachers are supportive and hard-working, and there are challenging (accelerated) courses offered for some of the students. The art and music programs are outstanding. Both me and my brother endured severe bullying here and nothing was done about it by the teachers and/or faculty. Children being bullied are scared to speak up for themselves due to adults being dismissive as well as making demeaning commentary towards students seeking help. The only thing I learned...

Most of the teachers are underpaid and unwilling to deal with the issues, and their morale is quite visibly low. With few exceptions, the teachers are rude, dismissive, and quick to punishment whenever your child commits the smallest error. The principal, Mr. Kurtz is one of the great smooth talkers...
