GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

MAST is one of the most unique high school experiences one can have, for better and for worse. It's an incredibly niche environment due to its mixture of hands-on science (via the R/V Blue Sea) and engineering programs, small class size/student body, campus comprised of several spread out buildings, and the mandatory involvement in the NJROTC. It's one of those schools where you either immerse yourself and love it, or you trudge through because it looks good on a resume. Personally, I have really enjoyed my experience here. I have always had social struggles and felt outcasted at times, and so coming to a school where you have around 60-70 students in your grade was a great comfort at first. Although I don't intend to pursue the military as a career, I have had a great time feeling a part of something bigger than myself. On the other hand, though, some of the faculty and classes haven't always been the greatest, and the school can be a bit much at times (academics, stress, etc.).

Great for college preparation. Sets you up to be disciplined and independent. Exposes you to class content you would not have otherwise learned.

A great school if you want to go into marine sciences, technology, or the military. Very competitive.

Teachers and administration are amazing. They truly care about each student's needs and progress. The school really provides personalized attention and believes in thoroughly preparing them for college. Top notch education and care of students are their top priority and this proves to be evident.
