GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My overall experience with HBR has been positive although I have only been there for 3 years I felt very welcomed when I first got there everyone from other students to faculty members everyone was very kind and helpful I felt a lot more heard because of the small number of people in the school and that alowed me to develop relationships with new people and my counselors.

My High School experience at Hinckley-Big Rock High School has been OK. Getting help from teachers could be easy or difficult depending on who you talk to. Most students try to mind their business and go about their own days which makes the school atmosphere inviting overall. In general, it really isn't a bad school or a fantastic one but I am enjoying my time there.

Beyond great! We came from another district specifically because this district is so wonderful, we have not been disappointed, have been here 4 years with kids in elementary, middle & high schools.

School district struggles to find quality educators. Administration is more concerned with high test scores versus actual quality education. Special-education department is adequate at best.

The review below was written by a teacher - in fact, the teacher doing the two new courses listed. I flagged the review below to be reviewed by Great Schools.
