GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Some of the best parts about my experience at Hiram High School are how involved the school was in sports and how diverse it was. Having diversity is something that I look for in a school which is exactly what Hiram is, and I was never a fan of sports until I started going to the football games. That made me more involved in the school and the sports and after school activities that they offered. The worst parts would be the cafeteria food which is normally bad in a good number of school, but apart from the vending machines I didn't eat school food.

I moved to this school from out of state at the beginning of January 2024 and the staff have been great. this school is substantially smaller than my previous one with a ratio of 2:1, however it is strange how unconnected it seems that everyone is. Not a single student has attempted to make a conversation with me as well as the teachers, they teach and then go on about their day. Also when i moved here i was required to take an extra class that has put me in a group of freshmen and sophomores, as well as due to the different grading scales, lowering my GPA.

At Hiram High School, my overall experience is great. I've been here since sophomore year and most of my teachers I am able to count on academically and for personal matters. The teachers are always there to help me through assignments and get me where I need to be. The students are also great and I've bonded with the best people. We also help each other get through what we need to get through. I'd say the "worst" parts is probably the food which I simply choose not to eat. Overall, my experience here has been amazing so far.

There are pros and cons when it comes to this school. I’m a Former student currently and nobody really know what goes on in this school in a students perspective. Parents won’t understand the type of frustration and depression kids get from this school. Definitely bullies here and would make you fee...

He is an IEP student with depression/anxiety who has struggled since elementary school but, between the emotional support throughout the school and the academic support from his teachers, he made all A’s and B’s this ye...

We have had a positive experience at this school however, there seems to be a huge gap in academics amongst the students. The teachers are doing the best that they can with the resources they have. There needs to be more college preparation.
