Instilling every child with a sense of leadership, goodness and civic responsibility is one of the most important lessons at Hoboken Catholic Academy. HCA is a private school serving students in prekindergarten to eighth grade, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools. The school has also been named a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School.
Through partnerships with the Campus Ministry, Student Council and the National Junior Honor Society, students get involved in numerous community service projects collecting food, toys and clothing for local food pantries, homeless shelters and hospitals. The school's music program is impressive, with the large choir being rated as superior through the I Sing Competition. They've even performed at Newark's Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
The school is a strong proponent of broadening the entire child and provides before and aftercare, an extensive list of after-school activities and a competitive athletic program.
HCA graduates, overall, are well prepared for the next chapter in life and go on to some of the best Catholic and public high schools.

Administration is mind-numbingly money hungry and ignorant. Teachers and administration actually accept payments and donations to overlook extreme cases of bullying. Expect to spend extra $4K per year to tudor your children due to overcrowded classrooms and ineffective curriculum. Expect to spend $10K extra on summer camps since attending private school in hoboken prohibits you from attending the town summer program. Expect to go to CCD regardless because HCA is really not a faith based program anymore. Club prices are tripled and expect it to be sub standard quality. There is no real value in this school except for the armed guards.

We as parents love the school for its focus on academics and learning - plus everyone is helpful and small school environment . Our kids like it and look forward to going to school and we can see them maturing as students.

I live a block away and work full time so I have no choice but to stay even though a surprising # of people that work at HCA are heartless and strangely harsh and I am not sure why.
