As all things do, it has its ups and downs. A lot of the cafeteria workers are nice and will make an effort to remember your name or ask you about your day. In terms of academics, it varies from teacher to teacher. With some, you can tell that they care about their jobs, others just want you out of their class, and some have no clue what they're doing. The counselors aren't much better either. They say you can go to them about anything, but it's hard to with their schedules and the fact that we have classes. We'd have maybe an hour during our day where we could go see them and half of that is lunch.

Dixon High School is a school that you need to brace yourself for. While the outside campus may look nice, some of the buildings are quite old and definitely need updating. However, I will say that overall it isn't a terrible school. They do have some clubs and extracurriculars to participate in, and they have a few AP courses for college readiness.

Over the past four years that I've been in Dixon, the population has grown however the school has not accommodated to the population growth. The classrooms are small but the teachers make up for the building. The teachers are amazing and do very well with meeting you halfway with work.

Horrible school. Horrible staff. This school is the poster for bad teacher, bad administrators, bad education. Students aren’t safe, or feel safe. When a parent calls the school to address concerns , they don’t even return a phone call.

This school is not in good condition, definitely a hazard. On a more important note, I have never experienced such a heavy heart with a school before. My son should be walking the stage at graduation with his peers tonight, but because he couldn’t attend a mock graduation, his cap and gown now sit w...
