What I liked about Homer was the small town atmosphere. Getting one-on-one help from teachers really aided me into becoming the best student I could be. Also, the friendships formed in a small school is great. Everybody knows everybody and there is not one unfamiliar face in the hallways. What I would like to see change is the overall school spirit and more preparedness for college.

Sports is the most popular extracurricular activity within my school. Coaches and students are very dedicated at Homer.

The people who serve the food are good it's the food that is poor. I really can't say anything positive about the lunch menu. I've mentioned we have high school athletes. Well from first grade to twelfth we all have the same portions sizes. Athletes are in school all day then are expected to perform their best at a two hour practice or a game! A small corn dog and a scoop of corn will not provide the needed calories. Salad bars or a sub bar would satisfy and be healthy for all. I don't believe the cost would be an issue if the quality of food was worth it. This being said, I have brought a packed lunch for most of my high school days.
