Attending Damien Memorial School has been pretty good. I sort of had expectations because I came from a smaller school which closed before I came to Damien. So far these expectations have kind of been met and my time here has been manageable and fun.

Damien Memorial School is not always well known in the big schools in Hawaii. What I like about Damien is how they ready us for college because Damien isn't just a Catholic school it's also a college prep school. Damien has decent teachers all around who are always there for you and will give you the education that you need. When things do get tough they're quickly cracked down upon. What sets us apart from other schools is how small our community and campus are. What can be changed is that we are diving into adding more classes/electives for students as well as getting new teachers to teach and fill in spots where we need them.

Honestly didn't like it. The teachers that I had were not the best except a selected few. There were certain situations where the students were not backed up against things that shouldn't happen to students or kids for that matter. And yet the head of the school backed up the teacher.

My grade for Damien is a "D" overall. If you are looking to send your child to a Catholic school, send them elsewhere. This school does not foster a CATHOLIC education. i would not recommend this school for others. my child was so overwhelmed. they came home and cried every night. because there was so much homework there seemed to be time for nothing else like sports or other extra curriculars. there also seemed to be limited sports for the girls. they did nothing...
