During my four years of attending Hopewell High School I've noticed an ongoing battle between staff/administration and the student body. What I would like to see happen before I graduate is the Hopewell High School community come together and show how much they care for each other.

Hopewell is a average high school with ups and downs. I went there for four years with teachers who make you want to come to school then teachers who make you want to skip. In the last year we got phone pouches and metal detectors with make the school image bad. With the phone pouches it makes school more stressful over all especially as a senior because we have college stuff to do and it makes it much harder. But they have a great Duel Enrollment program to get your associates degree when you graduate. Over all Hopewell is a average school.

Hopewell High School's performing arts program is not deemed as important as the other programs this school has to offer. Teachers here don't make the students feel like a family, instead they treat you like a stranger in walmart. There is a lack of effort from the staff. Nothing interesting or new in the cafeteria, as many complaints about the poor quality of the food there have been no changes to burnt buns or soggy pizza. The school library is the highlight of the school as a student safe place for a break from class and life.

I believe that school should be a safe learning environment for students. Hopewell High School is not a good representation of my beliefs. DO NOT send your children here. As someone who recently graduated, I can confidently say that your child will have more success in their future being a crackhead...

Horrible. More than half school population gets reduced/free lunch. SOL's are far under the national average. Check the facts and tour the school BEFORE you enroll your children to ANY of Hopewell's schools. Ask questions, talk to residents of the city who's children have attended.
