Opened in 2016, Mark White Elementary School is located on a beautiful, wooded tract of land on Old Farm Road, just north of Westheimer Road. Enrolling close to 700 prekindergarten through fifth grade students, Mark White Elementary is the only Houston Independent School District school to offer the French immersion program.
Mark White Elementary is non-zoned, which means there’s no attendance boundary. However, Briarmeadow residents can choose Mark White as a boundary option school. Other choices Mark White offers are a traditional program or Spanish dual-language.
Learning a second language helps students flourish in a global economy. It also contributes to overall academic success through improved cognitive development and increased critical and creative thinking.
French immersion students spend part of their day learning in English and the rest of their time learning French. They gradually acquire reading, writing and speaking skills in both French and English.
Mark White Elementary School is committed to developing students with the hard and soft skills necessary for 21st-century success. The curriculum concentrates on conceptual learning, cultural awareness and global perspectives.

A terrible experience! My child was in a class with several students who were constantly disruptive and increasingly violent. On more than one occasion, furniture was thrown across the room.
