The Piney Point area's first freestanding school was a one-room schoolhouse established in 1917. Rebuilt in 2011, Piney Point Elementary School now covers more than 114,000 square feet. Its design pays homage to the original building with old-fashioned pitched roofs near the front entrance. Today’s Piney Point Elementary educates about 1,200 prekindergarten through 5th-grade Panthers. Although the students aren't doing as well academically as other students in Texas, they're making above-average academic progress from the previous year. Piney Point Elementary works to provide every child with a rich, well-rounded educational experience. One outstanding way the school does this is through partnering with many of Houston’s superb arts organizations in a project called Arts Connect. Arts Connect harnesses the creative potential of the Houston metro area to help students access high-quality dance, creative writing, theater, music, and visual arts education. A recent collaborative effort with the Houston Ballet allowed Piney Point 3rd-graders to choreograph and perform their original “We are Houston!” dance. Beside the arts, Piney Point students enjoy participating in Marathon Kids, Fuel Up to Play 60, Drum Fit, golf, archery, and the angler program. Students have also worked diligently to achieve the Eco Schools Green Flag Campus designation through their butterfly garden.

Piney Point was a great experience, they have great teachers. I attended Piney Point for 3 years and each year I learned a lot. For starters, my 3rd grade teacher made sure I participated even when I didn't want to and that helped me be more comfortable around my peers. As for my fourth grade teacher, she might be known as the meanest but she really wanted the best for us, she pushed us to do great and in the end it worked out. My fifth grade year I can't really say much but my math teacher sure made math look easy with the way she taught which I am thankful for.

Horrible school! My daughter came for Kindergarten and First grade! Her kindergarten teacher was very knowledgeable and manageable and aware with teaching kindergarten students. However towards the end of the school year, my daughter was bullied multiple times by one student. Nobody contacted me reg...
