GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Hueytown high school had been an interesting experience. The school is full of different type of people, styles and personalities. Majority of the teachers are very welcoming as well as the staff.

Overall there have been good time and bad times in the four years I have been going to hueytown high school. The teachers at the school are good and help you with life lesson and build bonds with some doesn't really try to do more they have to some administrates abusive their power and some does more than enough I personally think there are a lot of ups an downs to this school but it was an good experience overall.

Overall I have had a useful education during my 4 years at Hueytown High School. The best times I have lived during high school is when I have been playing the sport that I most enjoy playing which is volleyball. Having access to a safe space like that has allowed me to grow and have unique experiences with a supporting group around me. Focusing on my education has saved me from falling into a bad path although that doesn't always save you from the bad experiences. I have had teachers that haven't been as supportive and resourceful as they should be with their students. We would simply receive packets/worksheets with new content and be left on our own to figure it out with no teacher support. I would love to see change in the environment for the teachers and students. When the teachers are in bad moods they tend to take it out on their students and while they are humans that isn't the way to properly handle the situation. Nevertheless I am grateful for the education I have received.

This school was not what I anticipated it to be, it is on the falling school list for 2022.

I am not sure what level of academics are offered at this school. One conversation with one of the school's counselors and being ignored by not one , but 3 ladies at the front desk/reception area upon my arrival was enough for me to enroll my child in a private highschool in Homewood. I felt very un...

As a graduate of Hueytown High School, I would not recommend for anyone to send their children to this school. It makes me feel disgusted when I think of all of the excellent teachers I had throughout high school that were fired or pressured to leave by the administration. The administration is know...
