Oak Forest Elementary sits at 6400 Kingwood Glen and has served the Atascocita community for over 25 years. Currently, the school houses 712 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Oak Forest commits to supporting its students by hiring a staff of teachers with specializations, including behavioral interventionists. Other specialized teachers are trained to support students with academic gifts, dyslexia, English as a second language (ESL), as well as a Response to Intervene program (RTI). In the spring of 2022, the Humble Independent School District (HISD) awarded Oak Forest’s Falcons Go Live Club funds for a broadcast studio. The student-led club produces a daily live broadcast. The local YMCA offers after-school child care in partnership with the school and community to develop each child socially, physically, and emotionally. The program sets up operations in elementary schools within the school district. Children get educational support, healthy snacks, fun activities, and more. After-school child care is available Monday through Friday until 6:30 p.m. However, the YMCA program charges $40 per child. HISD employees receive a $10 discount, and financial aid is available through YMCA and Workforce Solutions.

Teacher/student ratio is more than 30 students per teacher. School is overcrowded and no plans for the years to come. Distrit wide and Principal and Assistants Principals have no priorities for the diversify population in the area. No programs for English language emersion for non-speakers.

Caring staff and administration. Great learning environment and no tolerance for bullying. My daughter thrives at this school as compared to her last school, Timbers Elementary.
