GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The faculty are incredible, they're always willing to help with academic and non-academic things. They do an amazing job with the resources they can get, and they are always working to get better for us. However, the community isn't really involved with the school, and the school spirit is very low.

The cooks do their best with what they're given, but everybody complains about the portion sizes, and they're still hungry after lunch. There's no gluten-free or other diet options, either. I always have to pack a lunch and I mostly just skip lunch all together.

There's little to no choices for clubs, and the staff would love to help make some, I'm sure, but they're too busy with everything else.

Poor--- Spends too much money for poor quality education. No PTA or forum for parent support. Acceptance of poor performance based on poverty.

This school has consistently been a great home for many students. To the brutal naysayers: Go ahead and attack this school. Go ahead and put down the students, teachers, and administrators. Go ahead and live your life this way. But please, for the love of God, learn to punctuate correctly.

I just got done reading the article about being a graduate of Columbia High. The writer claims its not the school or the teachers to blame for poor results, its the community. I have heard this many times before from this school. A few years ago the school hired a teacher, with out properly doing a...

Glad to hear such a good report from a Columbia School graduate but that was many years ago and it appears that things have changed in the last 26 years. Office of Public Instruction for Wa. State has all the current information and stats on line as it is all public record. Education at Columbia Sch...
