My student has an opportunity to participate in the student jobs program, the battle of the books program, the student choir program. There are several other things offered that do not interest him. Overall I think the school does an excellent job of providing opportunities for elementary students.

My son entered this school in the fourth grade and was welcomed by students and staff alike. He has assimilated into the culture of the school. He has been challenged academically and has had support when he struggled. The staff understands what it takes to have a well rounded student.

W.A. Porter is the best we could hope for. It is such a strong knit community. The teachers and staff are very involved, welcoming, inclusive and treat parents and students with respect. It’s clear they CARE about their students.

We absolutely love Porter. This is our 4th year and I can’t say enough good things about this school. Every staff member, including teachers, custodians, and office personnel truly care about the students. The school feels like an extension of our family, and I am truly excited to send my 2nd child...

Our children attended WA Porter through BISD Open Enrollment. I cannot say enough about how special this school is to our family. Both of my children went to Porter from kindergarten all the way through 5th grade and loved every minute of it. One is a boy and the other is a girl and they were both very prepared for middle school!
