The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The teachers really care about the students. There are some issues but all schools have them. Overall a great school.

Depressed economy. There are a disproportionate amount of students using drugs. Aside from some of the more outspoken parents and the few bright stars this school suffers from being unable to motivate and inspire students to grow into something better than their surroundings.

Community member here. This community has many wealthy older residents, but most of the schoolchildren's families are struggling economically, with many students unstably housed. New superintendent since 2019, a local person, seems innovative and caring. As of 2023, test scores are improving signifi...

State testing scores are atrocious and have been for 15 years. School board is awful along with administration. Incidents of pedophile teachers. Ideological framework is geared more for their own virtue signaling then for educating the needs of students to be successful in the real world. It’s very...

Some teachers bully students. One teacher in particular, known among kids as passive aggressive. Students who do exactly what they are told, listen attentively, turn in all of their work, run a great grade in the specific course. They are called out, humiliated, confidences ran into the ground becau...

I have never been impressed with this school. I've gone to school here for quite some time, and let me tell you I've hated my years at Ilwaco. Bullying is not dealt with. Students are not properly taught. Teachers are under-educated and unkind. Ilwaco has the smallest classload I've ever seen. None...
