IB culture created toxic academic environment where suffering was socially rewarded. Arts were underfunded but lots of interesting classes were offered. Teachers were mostly super nice and smart. ASB involvement in clubs was frustrating and hindered club potential.

I enjoyed the athletics a lot, I wish more money was put into the sports departments such as facilities and new equipment.

Best parts: the academics are challenging, the teachers are phenomenal, and the people are kind and welcoming. I found my place and any people and I really enjoyed it. Worst parts: since it was an IB heavy school, we would miss out on possible AP courses and the IB program seemed to get more love than the AP program - perhaps not officially, but culturally at school, and I think that can be detrimental to kids who do AP or gen ed.

I should have been more cautious and on guard when even our white pediatrician cautioned me about sending my non-white child there. We’ve dealt with worse or so I thought. Child with IEP since 2nd grade. Now a 9th grader at IHS. Been in NSD entire school career. Absolutely the worst district for children with special needs. Antiquated administrators, outdated mindsets.
