GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

All the things about this school sucks. The school only cares about sports not about the kids, and they hire bad people to coach those sports. The school is never clean they use all the money they get from us to go towards stupid stuff.

Iron Mountain has provided me great learning options for figuring out my career path. Even though the school is small, there are many programs at a local vocational/technology center that is shared by multiple school districts that are built that teach subjects we would otherwise not have. Teachers are great. Sports here are outstanding.

IMHS is a good place to get a high school education; however, I wish it would've encouraged its underclassmen in their college preparation, as I'm sure it would've made my own college preparation more successful.

I have had a child or children in the district for at least 10 years, in that time we’ve been through multiple administrators. Only a couple were good, and they are gone. I am just starting to deal with new administration and already have concerns. Throughout the years we have had multiple problems...

Iron Mountain Public Schools are the place to succeed! Small class sizes & a veteran staff work well with students on all levels to make sure all students have a positive learning experience. Our schools are a Mountaineer family, where students support their classmates in academics, music, and athle...

Iron Mountain schools is a district in flux. There are some really great teachers and great kids at Iron Mountain, but there is a truly WEAK administration. The financial management is poor - they are operating a budget in the red and currently reporting to the State of Michigan. There are staff cut...

In a town known for brain drain, Iron Mountain Public Schools is the best example of an organization filled with low quality teachers who just don't know any better. Most of the staff have gone to the same school (northern) and teach through worksheets and old lesson plans. Discipline and quiet clas...
