The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

i have been in the district since 7th grade. many like to judge the school and complain about a lot of things. but i've never had a problem with teachers or anything in particular. our school has amazing sports teams. i've enjoyed all the teachers i've had in my time in east islip.

This school has a lot of great opportunities for everyone. They have a bunch of Art classes, Music & Theater classes, Engineering classes and much more.

I like East Islip's music program the most, they are a family and the teachers make sure everyone enjoys what they're doing. The administration mainly focuses on sports which can become a problem when funding is involved because other programs can lose money. I do like their contribution with BOCES for trade careers.

As a former school employee, I am afraid to say that the environment here isn't the greatest. I've watched how my co-workers / other teachers handle certain situations. Most teachers, not all, speak in a very condescending matter to the students and seem like they would rather feel like the boss of...

Stay away from this school at all costs. Especially if you have any type of mental situation or disability that can effect your work ethic or how you learn. There's a complete lack of concern for people like us, to the point where they butter you up in guidance and tell you all these things that the...

Administration has a unofficial policy to ignore children with learning disabilities. It costs the district money to address those children and if your child is in the spectrum they will tell you its behavioral and your issue. If you no experience or knowledge in this area you would have no idea how...
