Northside is a pretty decent place. The food's not that great, and the people have some issues sometimes, but the education is good. We even had a Morehead-Cain scholarship winner, so I'd say the teaching isn't bad. There are a lot of resources that are offered at Northside that I don't hear about at other schools. Our counselors/staff go out of their way to ensure their students succeed, no matter what, and put the kids in front of many opportunities that would've otherwise gone unnoticed. On top of that, there are extracurriculars that I'd never heard of until I got to Northside. We have a majority of the honor societies, art, band, theatre, volunteering, and this year, I co-founded our debate team, so we have that now, too. There are so many opportunities to become a part of the community, whether it be the school's community or the community of Jacksonville. It doesn't matter what you're interested in; there's a place for you here. There are some issues, but I'd give it an 8/10.

Academics were good, however, many teachers lacked communication with students on deadlines and help with subjects they were struggling with.

There was many goods like most teachers, classes, and environment. However, there was also some bad. Some were the incident involving a death at school, the after math and how everything was after. It took some time but it was starting to be better and normal. There is some trouble at certain games with other schools. Like fights and threats, but it was handled good and kept it safe.

This school does not regard personal medical information. I submitted an important medical document, the school front office, and nusre lost it. There are more mediocre teachers than good ones. There are better options, than North Side. Do your research. I urge you to document every time you submit...

I’m not gonna lie, after the murder that took place my (now snr) freshman year nothin has been the same. It feels like a prison, zero phone policy where they expect us to have them locked away in our back packs, the inability to congregate in the mornings being forced to go directly to class without...
