I love being at this school it is one of the best public schools in Jefferson parish. The school spirit is amazing and we have fun pep rallies and school events.

The IB program at Riverdale is the one of the best educations you can receive from a fully public high school. However outside of the IB program the school does not offer much assistance. There is a specifically a lack in assistance in the concealer department. Multiple times I was told that they were unable to assist me in the search for scholarships. Students transcripts were often not sent to their future colleges at the proper time. There were also times were I as a student was verbally degraded for attempting to make better opportunities for myself. On one instance I had explained to my counselor the college that was my top choice. This college is a private university that is known for its high standards for education. I was then told that "I would not be a good fit and should instead look at community college". When I stated that I got a heft scholarship from the school her response was "that is very surprising" she said in a very passive aggressive tone.

Overall my experience with Riverdale High School is an experience that is both good and bad. It all depends on the teachers that you get. The staff is both uptight and loose in some aspects such as uniforms, or IDs. The teachers in general are very good and kind. They are giving to the students and encourage them to do better at every aspect being the people to cheer their students to the finish line. They also have a rigorous IB program that has a heavy work load but pays off as it gets the student ready for college.

former student, who didn't get treated right by the administration. They almost didn't let me go to graduation.

I would never, in my life send my child to this "school" again. If you or your child wants to be treated with respect or get a decent education, this is not the place.

I decided to update this review now that I'm a sophomore. I will start with the bad things and then the good stuff. The PROBLEMS: Some of the kids here can be RIDICULOUS. Last year there was a student (who left) who would pick on freshman. Other kids tried to film me when they thought i was gonna cry...
