GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I recently graduated from North Johnston and I had some difficulty with college readiness. I was denied from NC State because I did not have as much access to AP/IB classes. After I had graduated they had expanded the options for AP classes.

What I like about North Johnston is that they have amazing people working here and the people you are surrounded with. The one thing I would change is we do not have any AP classes and we have limited languages.

from what i've experienced as a student, the school has quite a few teachers who are trying their best to help us, by putting in extra effort to do so, more than they are expected to. the band program is where i've felt most at home, it's quite welcoming, though underfunded, it's a place where one can belong. the agriculture department is great as well, specifically horticulture. the arts programs are very well put together and the teachers are passionate about their work. the food isn't as bad is it could be. there is a diverse population of students, you'll find somewhere to belong. overall, i'd rather be here than elsewhere and i would say that's a good thing.

Teachers and staff really care about each student! The staff is very friendly and always go "over and beyond" to ensure my child is taken care of. Other parents I have spoken to seem to agree!

Now that the principle is gone, maybe this school can get the leadership it needs. Now if we can just get rid of the superintendent (year 2009-2010)
