Found at 531 Williams Blvd. in Kenner, Louisiana, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School is a co-educational Catholic institution serving children from pre-kindergarten through seventh grade. The school was established in 1928, and in 1961, the building Our Lady currently occupies was completed and dedicated. In 2004, the Mercy Center was opened at the school, which included a new library, gym, music room and administrative offices. It’s accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School enrolls less than 250 students, and a typical class size is less than 19 pupils. The small classes allow for individual attention to be paid to each child, ensuring they understand and master each subject area. Our Lady’s mission is to go beyond the academic and prepare its students for the greater world by inspiring them to be good citizens, lifelong learners and leaders in their communities.
The school offers both before and after-care programs for a small fee. Uniforms are required for all students, and tuition runs approximately $3,700. It can be paid on an installment plan, and scholarships such as the Access College Early, or ACE Scholarship of Louisiana, Aspiring Scholars Scholarship, and the Louisiana Scholarship of Excellence are also available. I've heard so many good things about this school which pushed us to apply. Only to find out that it is not the same school it was years ago. The staff leaves it to the kids to relay messages to the parents. There has also been incidents where I have heard the staff speak to the kids roughly.... rude...
