Kentucky Avenue School is a small, vibrant, independent school located in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood. KAS serves diverse students from kindergarten through eighth grade. KAS is known for its ability to be both nurturing and academically challenging of its students, as it prepares them to excel in whatever environment they move on to after 8th grade. It accomplishes this by having faculty that hold high expectations for all of the kids and are truly devoted to every child's whole development. I can say they know every child. I truly believe in their mission. One of KAS best assets is its community.

This will be our 5th year here. Small classes. Big ideas. --this school embodies this very tagline. Individualized attention. The teachers are VERY in tune with the children, especially from a social perspective, and are great communicators with parents. Close-knit school community. Parents are very involved. involvement.
