GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Hiawatha High School has been really good , it is a small school but has a good system and organization , so the students and employees have a good enviroment to learning and teaching respectively . I like Hiawatha because the teachers are good and they treat the students really well , always trying to help and I also like the size of school because they have enough space to study and do sport activities. I would like to see the people at Hiawatha taking the sports more serious , giving the necessary support to the athletes and supporting all the sports , not only specific sports.

My experience with the teachers have always been pleasant. I've heard differently from other students but I've always had a pretty good relationship with them.

Its a very small school, the same building is preschool through high school, so most students know each other from different grades. In a small school its close knit, you have mostly gone to school with the same group of kids starting in kindergarten through high school, and you become friends. Being a small community makes it hard to meet new people because you are with the same students every year.

I have nothing against a majority of the teachers. However, counselors that do not seem to have the students' academic interests at heart and a principal that seems to feel that students who participate in sports should get good grades even when they turn nothing in does little to help the good teac...
