For the most part my experience has been great. Almost all of my teachers have been incredible. They have pushed me academically, but also to not be so shy. My english teacher is the reason that I joined theater and speech and debate in the first place. Entering high school I maybe spoke 5 words in each class. Now, I don't just speak when I know the answers. The school has had quite a few fights in the past and there aren't a lot of AP choices, but all of the teachers do everything they can to make sure that kids can take advanced classes that challenge them. The counselors are also incredible and try to make everything with applying to colleges easily. There is a counselor's page with local scholarships that gets updated as soon as they get them. I would like to see the choral, drama, and speech and debate teams grow under the wise advisement of our English, and choir teachers.

The best part of my experience is that everyone is generally pretty friendly, and the school is diverse and welcoming. There are a few of the staff that make it a hard place to sit through, but I would still say I've had a great experience throughout my years.

My time spent at Kirksville Senior High School was mediocre. There is nothing about it that stands out as terrible or excellent. I have teachers who are passionate but also ones who couldn't care less. It is definitely a situation where you get out of it what you put in. I was forced to be self-motivated and that helped grow me as a person and because of this extra involvement I am better prepared for college.
