I loved being a part of the cross country and track team all 4 years of high school. Being on the team took up half my time and that's where I made all my friends and found coaches that would support me. The worst part of my high school was deciding what to do and applying to colleges because it was overwhelming. Things I'd like to see change: -The school did hire a few really bad teachers (but also a lot of amazing teachers), so the schools should look into a person more before hiring them. -Food: The food isn't great there, I always brought my own food because I didn't want to eat the school food. -College readiness: We had to do an online program where it "got us college ready and helped us find what we were interested in" but I did not find it helpful. Also there should be more instruction on applying to colleges. I got some help from my parents, but I know a lot of students get intimidated by the process and they just don't know what to do. So more guidance would be better.

oldham county high school has long been renowned as one of the greatest high schools in the area, but it fails to meet that mark in today's time. The facilities are original, the administration and staff are constantly changing, and the academics are less than rigorous. My experience was fine, but I would have undoubtedly taken the opportunity to transfer to a better high school if I had been given the chance.

I would like more options for electives to explore topics I am passionate about and explore future careers.

The teachers and students seem to be divided into two categories. There are those who care and those who don't. Those who care teach AP courses and take AP courses. Those who don't are in the remaining courses. If your child is in the average courses, I think they are in a much more difficult learni...
