My experience at A.M. Barbe high school has had its pros and cons. I rate the curriculum very high on the scale. I felt very prepared for testing and the teachers and staff are helpful when needed. It is an open campus which is frightening at some points. However, Barbe is truly an amazing school with excellent academics.

Worst 4 years of my life. If I could give back all the time taken from me here I would. Racist teachers run rampant, admins dont care, and bullying is crazy. It was miserable

Barbe has multiple Advance Placement classes and Seniors has the ability to take dual enrollment at McNeese. Also, there baseball is very good. The downside is the bathrooms are a magnet towards people vaping and fights so they close most of the bathrooms. Also, some places aren't clean; like the bathrooms and classrooms. But academically this school is the best in the state and have a lot of people graduate and goes to big league colleges.

I attended high school at Barbe.. my Mother was a substitute teacher there before I attended.. we both had wonderful experiences at this school. I went to school in California, Texas, and Louisiana… and Barbe was was definitely one of the best I attended.

I went to high school here and enjoyed my time there. It is set up like a mini college campus so it gives you the atmosphere to help you prepare for the college environment. I felt like the classes also prepared us for college and they also had some students get college credit for certain courses.
