I only went to my high school campus for two years before I switched to dual enrollment, but I had a good experience. My teachers were very supportive an helpful. Most of the faculty wants to see the students succeed. Obviously there are some flaws to Sam Houston, but overall it was a good experience.

The best parts about Sam Houston High School is that every faculty member is trying to help you better yourself and see you get better as a person and as a student. Everybody is always trying to help people get to where there wanting to go and let everybody live out there dreams. There is nothing I would change about Sam Houston High School and there is no place I would rather go to school at.

The faculty at Sam Houston High School truly care about the students both academically and emotionally. I am thankful for their guidance and involvement of my daughter's high school years. The school population is large enough to have different groups of friends but small enough that all the students know one another. It's a very caring community.

My children attend school in this district because they are the best schools Lake Charles has to offer. I just graduated from SHHS recently. I graduated with a 3.8 not because I worked hard, but because the coursework was so easy. My older brother graduated with a 3.5 and did none of his homework. He aced every test to make up his grade. They WILL NOT prepare students for college. They are too busy ba...

Went to school here in the early 80's as a junior. I was given work that I had studied in 6th grade! Hope this school has improved since then.
