GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

United South High School is a good high school, the teachers are good and the principal cares about her students and staff. She is a very hard working woman that tries to get involved with her staff and students; she will make sure she pays attention to every student organization. My best experience there was the band.

The best part was having teachers who cared and did anything to help us pass. The worst part was that the students didn't want to change the way they thought about education and didn't really appreciate the teachers. What I would like to see change is the school being more open to the ideas students have.

USHS is a great school. As a student, one can pick a pathway and they will give you classes that follow it. There is so much variety and many electives and everyone is always willing to help.

A minuscule minority go to prestigious schools thanks to affirmative action and similar programs, largely...

As a teacher on this campus, I can attest to the fact that our faculty works for goals of excellence that include long hours of planning and tutoring and trying. The teachers are dedicated and able to make the changes for more successes. We need more parental involvement and a way to bring parents i...
