GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Latexo is a great school, academically. Many people have issues with the sports aspect of LatexoISD, and there are always going to be people hating on certain teachers, but for me, Latexo is a great place to go to school. I have gone to Latexo since 7th grade and I can not say I have ever wanted to change schools nor do I feel that I have been deprived of great academics.

Latexo has been a great place to learn, and they are pushing medical certifications to help their students find decent jobs right out of high school!

I liked how some of the teachers were somewhat laid back and not so strict. I like how everyone got computers, because I know some schools aren't lucky enough to have computers for everyone. Also, in my opinion, we have excellent academics, especially if you are in honors classes. The only things I would change would be some of the rules.

The academic support is adequate. Some of the teachers really do care, most are just job hopping between local districts. The sports are a joke, they don’t operate as normal schools do with sign ups and tryouts. It’s a small town so if you haven’t gone your entire life, you probably won’t make many...

This school leaves something to be desired. From the extremely immature students (grades 7 - 12) to the teachers who only make your day worse, this school will make you miserable. Sleeping through classes is a regular thing, because the assignments they give you are a joke. If you expect to make fri...
