GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I personally like this school, it gives you a lot of opportunities and free programs to join, for example upward bound which gives economically struggling students a chance to participate in college trips and tours for free or the school offering free diving lessons, being the one of the only ones to have this in the nearby county's or dual enrollment in Richmond community college(RCC) and getting the first 2 years free if you plan on going to RCC. but there are some dislikes that I could have an opinion on, for example the amount of classes Scotland only offers a few ap classes to take or how I would like for more events that let everyone participate instead of letting top students only participating, I understand the need to have high grades for participation but at the same time there should be lee way for school engagement.

I can say at Scotland high school there are some teachers that try to help you succeed and others that don't care and are just there to get paid. The school itself isn't the best, we even have metal detectors we have to go through and even get our bags checked even though we have clear book bags. I would like to see the school change its ways in disciplining the students and be a positive school so the students don't feel like they're on lockdown or in a prison.

My child is a A/B honor roll student who stay to himself, was tardy by 1 to 2 minutes 4 times for the school year 22-23, according to his first period teacher. Each time the teacher notified me via phone or text message, and I thank the teacher for keeping me informed. I explain to his first period...

This school has no clue what it’s doing. Their focus is on student athletes and not education. Telling parents their kids have state tests and what time to get here and then tell us we can pick up our kids when they get their phones back when they are done with the test. This is the 2nd year in a ro...

the teachers are amazing but the majority of the students are really focused on drama and it typically interferes with the learning

I have only attended a couple of orientations with my daughter, but I believe the school deserves a high rating based on our first impressions.
